SOLVED: NAT Type Strict in Call of Duty - WWII

This can be either a first person shooter or a first person driving game. In a shooter the player must have a very fast reaction time. Usually there is a weapon held out in front of the player that is used to target other players or enemies. They can be either single player or multiplayer. The single player versions usually have a short storyline with minor RPG elements. Call of Duty and Battlefield are some very popular examples. Forward Ports for Call of Duty: Before You Forward a Port Before you can forward a port you need to know the following things: The IP address of your router.

Having a Strict or even Moderate NAT type can cause major headaches for players who like competing online. Multiplayer games need a smooth and clean pathway to your internet connection, and having any restrictions in place — like a Strict NAT type — can make it difficult for you to enjoy your time playing online. Just a quick not before we get started: This section is broken up into both Xbox One and PlayStation 4 sections. The steps remain essentially the same, although to find your NAT type on each console is slightly different.

The ports are also different, so follow the steps in the Xbox One section, but just make sure you use the PS4 port numbers listed below. Find the access address to your router. Log into the router. You need to open up some ports and assign them specifically to your console. Then I put in the ports I need opening.

As you can barely see … sorry for the poor quality , the port 53 appears three times, followed by the IP. I have been playing the game for years now on both moderate and open NAT. The only problem I run into on a moderate NAT is not being able to communicate with some people when I join their parties. Yeah I was gonna say this, please edit this post and change that bit.

By this logic having a moderate NAT shouldn't be much of a deal at all considering it only stops you from pairing with strict users. None of us can connect to each other. Randomly maybe 1 or 2 of us will. Definitely the last cod game I purchase. My router has UPnP, still does not work. My nat type is open for zombies is open but closed for multiplayer.

I feel like this is an issue COD has. If I had to guess, Sledgehammer doesn't really care about multiplayer performance with Zombies because you can only have 4 at a time in a game. When you have up to 12 players in a Team Deathmatch game for example, they are being very strict about what assortment of NAT types are in one game. I think from their perspective, if they allowed 12 Strict NAT players in the same game, that might have so much lag that it would be horrible.

Most people don't realize that Moderate and Strict NAT types have performance issues because the port traffic has to be rerouted and translated. Like I said, in my case, it was my gateway router that was blocking things. Never had any issues. We never had issues before either until this version of COD. Apparently, Sledgehammer, probably due to a desire for best possible performance, is basically punishing Moderate and Strict NAT types.

That's really what has changed, and nobody is really talking about that. Anyway, it's possible that your DMZ is on the second layer say, a WAP , and the first layer a gateway modem is blocking the ports. That will still show up as a Moderate NAT until the ports are opened on the gateway modem.

I put my ps4 into a DMZ and still can't get an open nat. I never can in COD. Always only a COD thing too. I'm not who you responded to, but I'm having the same issue. How can I determine if my modem is blocking ports?

My NAT is open on the Xbox dashboard, but strict in multiplayer. I think you have UPnP enabled just make sure to disable it. Use of this site constitutes acceptance of our User Agreement and Privacy Policy. Log in or sign up in seconds.
